What's Wrong With These Women, Girls, Whatever They Are?

I was looking at my old posts and realized I never posted this one. In case you're wondering why I'm talking about Spring when it's full blown Summer now! :)

Yesterday I was shopping, at a very popular super center that shall remain nameless. I normally go to the same place, but this time I went to the same chain, just in a different town, because I needed a pair of boy's size 2 dress shoes and my normal store didn't have them.

I think every kid in the county and the neighboring 2 or 3 counties must wear that size because they only had 1 pair of size 2's and they were the wrong color and were a bit too dressy for a Spring Concert for an elementary school aged boy. Looked like something an elderly man would wear to church on Sunday. They look very nice on older men, don't get me wrong, but I just couldn't do that to my 9 year old.

Anyway, sorry about the rant there, but that's the reason I had to go to another town's store and hence the point of my post.

While I was in the store I was grabbing some groceries and overheard two women yelling at one another. They kept getting louder and then the curse words started flying. The next thing I know everyone is gathered at the end of the aisle I'm in and so of course, curiosity got the best of me...bad bad Arika. I went to the end of the aisle and at the end of the next aisle over these two women or girls (I'm not quite sure how old they were, but they didn't look any older than I am) were duking it out and I don't mean just hollering at one another. They were throwing punches and all.

If that wasn't bad enough, another lady who I assume was with them had her cart pulled back a bit with a young boy, maybe 3 in the front. The poor little boy was crying so hard and it was obvious he was scared to death, but the woman just sat there too interested in the fighting to see that it was no place for her little boy.

I couldn't believe it! How could you just sit there too enthralled in ANYTHING not to notice your child is scared and crying his eyes out. Come on...the fighting in a public place was bad enough, but there's just no excuse for subjecting your child to that type of behavior.

The store personnel came and broke the fight up and escorted both girls out of the store...Thank Goodness. Of course, by this time I was pretty much blocked in the crowd but as I made my way out I just couldn't help but shed a few tears for that little boy. My heart broke right then and there as I realized that some people just don't get it.

So, please if you're a mom or grandma of little ones, hug them tight and keep them close as long as you can and for crying out loud...don't make them sit and watch something that obviously scares them and possibly scars them for life too!
