I absolutely love pound cake. I'll eat it with no topping at all - sometimes a whole loaf in a day. I love it with strawberries or cherry toppings too. Here's a raspberry sauce recipe to help liven up your pound cake.
Devilish Raspberry Sauce
What You'll Need:
- 1 package (14 oz) caramels
- 8 squares (1 oz each) unsweetened chocolate
- 1 can (4 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- 1 stick margarine
- 1/2 C seedless raspberry jam
- 1/2 C whipping cream
In a large, heavy saucepan melt caramels and chocolate over low heat stirring constantly. Once mixture is completely melted and smooth add the sweetened condensed milk. Mix together well. Add butter, raspberry jam and cream. Stir until completely melted together and mixture is smooth and creamy.
This sauce is wonderful served over pound cake or angel food cake. Add a few fresh raspberries as a garnish and you have a tasty dessert to serve to family and friends.

Do you serve the sauce warm? I would like to take this to a party tomorrow night. It sounds yummy! I'm just not sure how I should serve it.
Warm would be best yes Kim, but I suppose you could try it cool if you wanted but with chocolate in it I don't know how that would work!
Let me know how it goes.
